Who I Am

Originally from Pennsylvania, I moved to Colorado where I earned a degree in Zoology from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. During my undergraduate degree I worked alongside Dr. Graham Peers in algal molecular biology and physiology. After graduating I spent a year as the laboratory manager of Dr. Peer's lab during which I helped Post Doctoral Fellow Dr. Maxwell Ware with his work on Desmodesmus armatus mutants, which led to my first publication. While waiting for border restrictions to ease so I could begin my Master's work in Canada, I worked as City Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. In the Fall of 2021 I began my Master's work with Dr. Fran Bonier on the microbial competition strategies of the burying beetle Nicrophorus orbicollis.

When I'm not in the lab you can find me playing, coaching, or watching soccer. In 2022 the girls team I coached was the best U13 team in their league, which I am very proud of. I'm an avid consumer of all sports (women's/men's/college/professional) usually with my dog (pictured here) beside me. My partner and I also foster dogs through the Kingston Humane Society when we can.
